Sometimes I wish we could fastforward and skip today’s trouble. I could be born anew and start all over again, like falling asleep and waking up to a new new day. It would be so much easier to drop everything and jump into a new skin.
But no, the day drags on and on, tomorrow melts into today and today melts into yesterday. You’re always stuck in the now– and the now never rests. Every second matters, every second counts.
I’m bogged down by all this baggage tied to my back and to my ankles. I wish I could drop it all; but I can’t. I wish the world would restart and we could make new first impressions; but it won’t. I wish I could erase the past and pretend it never happened; but it did.
I’ll just have to make do.
